This site is an attempt to create a critical edition of the Utah version of the Doctrine and Covenants.
The Doctrine and Covenants (D&C) is one of the books of Scripture of the “Mormon” tradition of restorationist churches, the most famous of which is the Utah based “Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints”. D&C purports to be a series of revelations given to the founding prophet, Joseph Smith Jr, and to subsequent church leaders. There are variant versions of the D&C used by different off-shoots of the Mormon tradition, but this website will concentrate on textual variations, textual provenance and actual chronology of the edition used by the Utah based church.
